Guidelines for Approving Organizations to Benefit from the Schnucks – Bags 4 My Cause program

The purpose of this program is to enable our stores to support local not-for-profit organizations important to their neighborhoods.

If you would like to submit an organization for consideration, please review the guidelines and instructions below. If approved, your organization will be placed on a list for local store leadership to consider. Please note: Approval does not guarantee selection at store level.  If chosen, your organization will be notified directly and in advance.

To qualify for consideration, benefiting not-for-profit organizations must have:

  • 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) status
  • A direct local connection to a specific Schnucks store location
  • The ability to put funds to use within the local Schnucks store’s community

Priority consideration will be given to the following:

  • Causes focused on hunger, human services, health & wellness, education, and/or civic improvement
  • Organizations actively participating in the “My Schnucks Card” (eScrip) program

Requests that will not qualify:

  • Events/Fundraisers/Services that benefit a for-profit business
  • Events/Fundraisers limited to specific individuals or families
  • Political organizations or lobbying groups
  • Religious organizations (except where a school or food pantry is involved)
  • Requests to support expenses related to fundraisers/events
  • Private clubs
  • Any organization that discriminates on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, religion and/or sexual orientation

The Schnucks Bags 4 My Cause Program ended on December 31, 2018. Thank you to our customers who supported this program over the past two years, and to the dedicated nonprofits who benefited, and who work so hard to make an impact in our communities. Any nonprofits awaiting the final distribution of funds will receive them by March 1, 2019.
